FIRM'S DESCRIPTION: RIZ Krajina Ltd. has been raising high-quality freshwater fish. The company is engaged in the whole breeding process, ranging from the fertilization process, over spawning and rearing the fish until they reach sizes for commercial use. RIZ Krajina Ltd. is now the leading producer of freshwater fish in the Bosnian Federation and the only breeder of grayling in whole Southeast Europe. The cleanliness of the spring water as well as a clear development strategy have enabled to create a certified high-quality and healthy products recognized in Bosnia-Herzegovina and abroad. The whole breeding project is based on modern knowledge and long-term experience in this area. 

RIZ Krajina Ltd. 40% of its fish products are sold in Bosnia-Herzegovina while 60% are determined for export. Apart from that, tourism, retail, catering and commercial lease activities belong to its portfolio.

Recognising the huge potential for eco-tourism in Una-Sana-Canton, RIZ Krajina Ltd. started the construction of the first eco-touristic settlement in Bosnia and Herzegovina in 2008. The settlement UNKA will include a hotel, a villa, as well as a couple of apartment houses that are constructed with ecological material and be heated with geothermal energy. The tourists will be offered a varied combination of activities, in the field of (water) sports, excursions, seminars and wellness so that they can optimally take benefit from the rich natural and cultural resources of this region. Thanks to its extensive experience in the area of gastronomy and its fish-farm near the site, RIZ Krajina disposes of outstanding conditions for culinary offers. Traditional Bosnian cuisine with natural ingredients is highly accentuated. 

The opening of UNKA is planned for spring 2010.
